ABOUT

Our mission is to educate global communities on retinal health, conduct research on the prevention and treatment of retinal diseases, and facilitate retinal care in underserved regions of the world. 

OBJECTIVES

Research

  • Increase awareness of retinal diseases in society.

  • Support retinal physicians and researchers in pursuit of curing retinal diseases.

Outreach

  • Screen and treat diabetic retinal diseases in underserved areas around the world through outreach and volunteer programs.

  • Implement healthcare information technology systems to increase accessibility of medical information.

  • Supply smartphone-adapted retinal imaging cameras for use by volunteers in underserved areas and remote reviewing by medical professionals for diagnosis of retinal diseases.

  • Supply underserved areas with donated eye surgical equipment.

Education

  • Support the education and training of international retina specialist trainees from underserved areas.

  • Conduct community-based educational symposiums on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration.
